It all began on September 18, 1900 in Wartrace, Tennessee. Charles T. Hulan established Hulan Leather (Perfection Leather Goods) by offering high quality leather dog and equestian items constructed of the finest leather he could find.  The business grew quickly as it catered to professional horsemen and dog owners across the United States. The small family business quickly grew to become a recognized name around the world.  

 

Mr. Hulan and his staff made harnesses for the United States Military and quickly developed a highly regarded english saddle that was one of the first to adequately fit American Saddlebreds and Tennessee Walking Horses. As the business evolved, the Hulans became the go-to source for one of the first ever "Name-on-Plate" dog collars to hit the market.  

 

In the early 1960s, the company was managed and operated by William E.(Bud) Hulan who continued the tradition of quality and striving for "perfection" in the company's product until 1995. In 1996, the current owners purchased the company. Since 1996 the company has continued its goal for excellence and added many new products to the Perfection line.

Today we are focused on taking our expertise and utilizing the high quality leather available in our equestrian line and making it available for human products. Horse people know what defines good quality leather and that quality will always be the focus of Perfection Leather as we move forward.
